We learnt lots about how to take care of the animals and what types of food they eat. Our farm school session ended with a beautiful moment where we had the opportunity to bottle feed the lambs!

Building Houses for the Three Little Pigs
We designed and built houses for the three little pigs. We made sure our houses were strong enough so that the Big Bad Wolf couldn't blow them down! The children created some fantastic structures, building and balancing with care. We re-told the story of the 'Three Little Pigs' afterwards, using our stick puppets.
In phonics, we have begun learning our phase 3 sounds!
We made cards for our family to show how much we love and care for them.
Mental Health Week
This week was mental health week, so Mice class took part in a lovely circle time activity every day discussing subjects like ‘What makes us feel happy/ calm/ excited/ scared/ angry’. We also learnt what ‘belonging’ means and considered what helps us to feel a sense of belonging at Stelling Minnis. We had some really lovely responses such as "I love that we get to play outside lots. That's my favourite!" "I love the teachers and my friends. School is fun". "I know our school values. They help me to feel like I belong, because everyone follows our school values". To end the week, Mrs O gave the children a 'worry bear', so if they ever feel worried, anxious or nervous about something, they can tell their little worry bear and it will help to take some of their worries away. We also discussed how we should talk to a trusted adult at home or at school if we are ever worried too.
Welly Wednesday
We really enjoyed Welly Wednesday this week, as we toasted marshmallows on the fire that we helped to build! We have learnt the ‘respect position’ which is a safe way to sit around a fire, and we learnt how to move safely around a fire too.
The PTFA organised a wonderful cake sale for the end of term! Yum!
