At Stelling Minnis C of E Primary School, Squirrel Class is made up of children in Year 1 and Year 2. I am Miss Smithson, the class teacher, and I am very lucky to have our wonderful Teaching Assistants working alongside me.
We are so lucky to be a part of the Stelling Minnis community. We have close links with our local farm, and the children love spending time with Farmer Henry and Farmer Max. We also have strong links with our two local churches, St Mary’s Church, Stelling, and St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Upper Hardres.
Our learning follows a two-year cycle and is brought together through our whole-school core concepts. We are on 'Year B' of our curriculum; we will explore Risk & Responsibility, Culture & Diversity, and Reflection & Legacy, helping our Squirrels to make connections across their learning and the wider world.
On Tuesday afternoons, we are fortunate to have specialist teachers, with Mr Melville teaching Music and Primary Sports Giants teaching PE. On Wednesdays, Russell and Tom from Primary Sports Giants will also join us for our Welly Wednesday Forest School sessions.

Just a little reminder…
- PE is every Tuesday, so please make sure your child comes in their PE kits.
- Welly Wednesday is every Wednesday, so please make sure your child has wellies and waterproofs in school ready for our outdoor adventures!
- We visit Stelling Lodge Farm once each term. We will let you know the dates of our visits as soon as they have been arranged.
