Design Technology shines brightly at Stelling Minnis
At Stelling Minnis CE Primary School, our Design Technology curriculum encourages creativity, problem‑solving and practical skill development through hands‑on learning. Children explore and experiment with a wide range of materials and tools from the earliest years, building imaginative models and learning how to plan, make and refine their ideas.
As pupils progress, learning is sequenced to build on prior knowledge, helping them develop technical vocabulary, resilience and confidence in tackling design challenges. Our rural environment enriches DT, giving children real‑world contexts inspired by the natural world and local farmland. This approach helps pupils understand how design can solve meaningful problems while reflecting our school values of curiosity, courage and compassion.
